AUCTION
Although Marymount may not have an annual prom of its own, this year’s Prom Night Benefit Auction was all about the fun, the friendships, the school, and the memories we make together. Prom Night was held on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the Fess Parker DoubleTree Resort with 250 Prom Kings and Queens decked in their finest tulle, taffeta, ruffled shirts, and tiaras. Auction Chair Jennifer Housh and her committee converted the ballrooms to party palaces with classic prom themed stars and balloons. With our successful silent auction chaired by Sara Jaqua and Cindy Oas once again online, guests bid on wish list items requested by the faculty, class projects, and party book opportunities at the event. Our live auction, chaired by Janet Shaw and lead by auctioneer Bernadette Castro, presented some amazing trips and experiences. Marymount requested special assistance for our Time, Tools, and Technology paddle raise and the prom court responded with heartfelt, generous enthusiasm. The Marymount auction video spearheaded by Sandy Shields reminded us all of why we were there – for the children. With a beautiful auction program including numerous family ads designed and produced by Debbie Bettencourt and Nina Gustason, Marymount’s Prom Night Benefit Auction raised $275,000.
